Description
Chondroitin Sulfate plays a major role in the growth and repair of cartilage. Chondroitin sulfate consists of high viscosity mucopolysaccharides. These biological polymers act as the flexible connecting matrix between the tough protein filaments in cartilage to form a polymetric system similar to reinforced rubber. Chondroitin Sulfate has been used in conjunction with Glucosamine to treat osteoarthritis. The book " The Arthritis Cure " recommends taking between 800 to 1600 milligrams of Chondroitin Sulfate together with 1000 and 2000 milligrams of Glucosamine Sulfate daily.
Jo Mar's Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate is available in powder or capsule form. The water soluble powder has a salty taste and weighs about 3.8 grams per level measuring teaspoon. Capsules may contain less than 1% magnesium stearate, an inert ingredient used in the encapsulation process.
